Overview of personality profiles of combat sports athletes
Kubín, Kryštof ; Zdobinský, Adam (advisor) ; Holá, Veronika (referee)
Title: Objectives: Methods: Conclusion: Keywords: Overview of personality profiles of combat sports athletes The main objective of my thesis is to summarize the existing knowledge about the personality profile of combat sports athletes on the basis of literature sources and scientific studies and to systematically organize and compare the obtained knowledge. In this thesis, I used a collection and research of available scientific studies in electronic form to compile an overview of the personality profile of combat sports fighters. Most results from studies agree that combat sports athletes are dominant on some personality dimensions, specifically low scores on neuroticism and high scores on conscientiousness. It is important to note that the type of martial sport may influence the resulting score. martial arts, personality test, individual sports, big five, neo-ffi, sport psychology, psychometrics
Effect of maximal strength in bench press on the punching impact force in combat sports
Motejlek, Tadeáš ; Omcirk, Dan (advisor) ; Oláh, Vladan (referee)
Title: The effect of maximal strength in bench press on punch force in combat sports Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out whether the maximum strength in the bench press has an effect on the force of the punch in combat sports and whether it is therefore advantageous to include the bench press in training for the development of the strength of the upper limbs in combat sports. Next, to verify whether there is a connection between the maximum force of the punch and additional variables, which include the speed of lifting the barbell during the bench press, the intercept of the speed axis V0, the intercept of the load axis L0, the area under the line and the slope of the regression line. Methods: The research was based on testing bench press maximum strength for one repetition maximum and maximum force of the rear cross punch of the dominant upper limb. During tests were used position transducers to measure the lifting speed of the barbell and force plate to measure the impact of punch. The evaluation of the measured data took place using the Shpiro-Wilk test of normality of data distribution and subsequent correlation analysis using the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results: Between the one repetition maximum in bench press and maximum punch force was found no...
Motivational structure of selected population groups for combat sports
Sýkora, Jan ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Kašpar, Ladislav (referee)
This master's thesis primarily focuses on the investigation and analysis of motivational structures among selected population groups in relation to combat sports. The theoretical part of the thesis delves into a more detailed examination of the nature and classification of motivation. It also provides an analysis of personality in sports and performance motivation, contributing to the understanding of internal factors influencing individual motivation. Within the theoretical overview, a brief history of karate, judo, aikido, wrestling, and mixed martial arts (MMA) is presented. Additionally, readers are introduced to combat sports, martial arts, and the categorization of combat disciplines. This introductory perspective is crucial for better contextualization of motivation within these specific domains. In the practical part, a quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing the multidimensional questionnaire Sport Motivation Scale (SMS-28). This questionnaire is widely recognized as one of the most extensively used diagnostic tools in the field of sports. With the assistance of the SMS-28 questionnaire and my own custom questionnaire, responses from participants were collected, subsequently analyzed, and served as a source of information for the research questions of this thesis. Kohout, Ondřej ; Omcirk, Dan (advisor) ; Oláh, Vladan (referee)
Title: Kickboxing techniques and the frequency of their use in ring disciplines: a systematic review Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine the frequency of individual techniques used during fights in full-contact kickboxing matches at international level based on a systematic review of scientific publications. Methods: The method used to create this bachelor thesis was a systematic review based on a referred selection of items in accordance with PRISMA recommendations. First, a research question was set to determine the frequency of techniques used in ring disciplines (K-1 and Low kick) in kickboxing. Using predefined keywords and Boolean operators, a search script was developed to search scientific databases such as the Web of Science, PubMed and Scopus. Duplicate studies were removed from search results and the final number of studies was reduced according to predefined criteria. Eligible studies were used for data analysis and subsequent synthesis. Results: Out of the total number of studies found (n = 347), ten studies were used for the results of this systematic search. The most commonly used technique in kickboxing ring disciplines was identified as the Jab. Two studies have identified the Jab as the technique with the highest frequency of use, while three other studies...
